Traveling by bus from Beijing to Dalian

SAS1 Points: Join Date: Jul 5, 2006 Status: offline	Hey Guys, Is it possible to travel by bus from Beijing to Dalian? If its possible, how much does it cost in chinese currency, how long does it take and are the tickets readily available? I know you can travel by train and takes about 9 to 12hrs and cost about 190 in Chinese currency. I was looking for a cheaper route and hoping Buses would be cheaper than trains. than you Sal

CALIFORNIA Points: Join Date: Jul 22, 2005 Status: Offline	Usually,the bus was more expensive than the train,about 276RMB from Beijing to Dalian,in Bawangfen Coach Station,and about 9hours!! Good luck!

Thanks for your reply. I have Couple more questions for you.
I plan to be in Beinjing on the 4th of August and plan to head out to Dalian the next day. Are the train tickets usualy easily available? I've heard horror stories that Sometimes you have to wait 7 day for a train ticket.

Are there any Indian or Bangladeshi Guest houses or hotels in Beijing? I heard that they are way cheaper than the regular hotels.

Bus fares: CNY 100, CNY 160 and CNY 210. It depends on what kind of bus you take.

Schedule: 12:30, 13:30 and 18:30 at Dalian Gangwanqiao Bus Station.

In fact, you can take train from Dalian to Beiing.
