I'm planning a 3 week trip to China in October, any suggestions for my schedule?

Tell us where you will start from. China's a big place, but there are amazing things to see in every place I have visited.

I will be there for 3 weeks in September, my itinerary is as follows:

Beijing, Xi'An (by overnight train), Chongquin (overnight train), Yangtse Cruise to Yichang, Shanghai (by plane), Beijing (overnight train)

I tried not to put too many locations in there, as three weeks are not that long (well, actually just 18 days for me). I think my itinerary covers some nice places (of course only a small selection...).
Perhaps that is of some help to you :)

it is a nice itinerary , you covered most part of China ,and you can see the differences among the cities of China

Hi

Lorenz's itinerary sounds interesting.

I like cities, but also monuments/temples. I'd quite like to include Hong Kong on my trip.
