I am fond of the stone with `natural' scenaries. They look like chinese paintings, but minus the paper and ink.

I bought some during a visit to the market near qinhuai river and confuciaus temple.

I was wondering whether there are wholesale markets somewhere where i can see the whole range.

Also, what other antiques markets are there?

Can i get the stones in Shanghai?

Hi, I visited Dali (Yunnan Province) last year. Dali is the place if you want to look for a whole range of stone made into chinese paintings. Dali is famous for its marble and many of them are used to made paintings that you are interested. Marble is called "Dali Shi" (meaing "Dali Stones"). So can you imagine the beauty of Dali marble? The stones are framed to look like mountain scenery in chinese paintings. Definitely worth checking out!!
