Electrical Gifts - Buy in Europe or locally ?

We are considering buying Digital Cameras and Camcorders for friends and relatives in China. Would you recommend buying before we leave (UK) or locally in Shanghai ? How do prices compare ?
Are there any websites where we can get local prices of specific products like pricerunner.
Any issues with duty or customs we need to consider ?

Any advice welcome.

I think the price is similar!But different in HK.
