EXLIFE Points: Join Date: Mar 10, 2005 Status: offline	Foreign Beggers i accidently find this picture on the internet. i wonder he is a true or false begger. one of my friend said she was moved because the men loved China so much. ^-^,^-^, how do you think of it?? have you found many beggers on the streets in China? will you give them some money? people say that some of them are professional beggers, even richer than us!!! is this true??!! the Chinese characters on the paper mean: my name is Bernard. i love China so much that i want to stay in China. however, i have no money. can you help me? the two big characters"帮忙”mean help

The guy in the picture is probably a professional beggar panhandling his way through life. We call them panhandlers because we are skeptical of their situation. Most of us believe their status is self imposed. This guy probably loves China because he thinks he'll find some place to buy high quality opium.

In the United States, it is true that some panhandlers make more money than working people.

I saw two children begging on the streets of Shanghai in 1978. When I approached to give the children ten yuan, the local people crowded me out.

Many beggars approached me this time in both Shenyang and Beijing. I guess they could see my big heart. My lady friend would not allow me to give them money.
