Beijing to HongKong - how long?

Hi all,

Im gonna be in Beijing for 6 days next week and wanted to go and see HongKong, whats the best way of getting there and roughly how much would a flight cost?

There are both direct flights and direct train from Beijing to Hong Kong. Both are nice. If you have a tight schedule(6 days including HK?), fly. The flight ticket costs roughly 2800RMB with an extre fuel surcharge of about 187RMB. If lucky enough, you can get as much as 40% off on ticket price.

Train
T97B Beijing/ Kowloon 12:47 - 13:10(the next day) 24h23min

Hard sleeper: 480RMB
Soft sleeper: 738RMB

No discounts for train tickets.

flight from HK to Beijing will be just under 2 hrs - and basically the difference between a soft-sleeper on the train is marginal - probably less than rmb150 - unless of course one takes the "hard-seat" train. You should be able to get a flight for around HK800 to Beijing if ticket is purchased in HK. Or u may just cross the border into shenhzen and take a flight from there too.
