Anyone ever been to?

Hi,my Daughter is working in Shuang Ya Shan,10 miles from Harbin.Has anyone been there and could you tell me something about the area,as I don`t seem to be able to find any info about it. Thanks.

Hi AMANDAGILBERT,

I am from that province and I only heard a little about Shuangyashan, it is among the many places that skip travellers' minds. But there is enough reliable online info about the city(including the www.shuangyashan.gov.c), of course, all in Chinese. If there is anything particular you need to know, post your questions here, we might be able to help.

Shuang Ya Shan is a very small city which is famous for coal,I think!

Hi Rita,thanks for the info.Had an email from my daughter yesterday,her boyfriend,who is also teaching there has just been rushed to hospital with appenicitis and had to be operated on to remove it,do you know anything about the health care out there. Thanks,I`m a bit worried.

Shuangyashan is about 500km away from Harbin, if the illness your daughter's boyfriend caught is kinda serious (sorry, i have no idea about appenicitis you mentioned), they should go to the capital city of the Province for better treatment which should be very convenient.

Thanks Rita,I`m a bit worried,as I have`nt heard from my daughter for three days,so I don`t know if she is at the Hospital with him.She has`nt replied to my mails and I was`nt sure how far away the Hospital was,but thank you again for the info.

Me and Mark are fine, We havent been able to get your emails ,we are now out of the hospital. He was in the shuang ya shan hospital.
