October.

Hi,
October is a high season of travelling to Hong Kong because of being influenced by Cantonese Trade Fare. You can have a half day Hong Kong island tour to visit Victoria Peak, visit the Repulse Bay, Aberdeen and Stanley Market. For such a guided tour, it costs about USD200.00 if you travel alone. But the room rate in October is a lot higher than any months in a year.

If you speak English, practically, you don't need a guide/escort travelling in Hong Kong, but if what you need is a travel buddy or companion, that's another matter. Good luck.

Most hotels, (hostel not sure) have guide notes for local tours for foreigners, to join a group is cheaper.
