Hello, here are some information about the train between Urumqi and Shanghai. Hope it is helpful to you.

There is only one train between there two places, T51/T54, which leaves at 14:55 everyday and arrives in Shanghai at 15:20 on the third day. That is to say 48hours25mins in total. It really will be a hard journey. :-<

The charge for a soft sleeper train tickets is RMB1097.00, while RMB699.00 for a hard sleeper ticket, RMB619.00 for a soft seat ticket and RMB389.00 for a hard seat tickets.

You can go to the railway station to purchase that directly, or you can book that from the hotel where you stay.

Why not take a flight instead ?
