Such as going to a different segment of the Great Wall than Badalang? Are the guides flexible on these matters?

I would love to be guided on my first trip to China, mostly because of the language barrier, but I'm afraid to end up in a crowd of tourists everywhere I go while I would prefer to have a slightly "off the beaten track" trip.

Also, are the restaurants on these tours also frequented by locals, or are they only for tourists?

Yes, tours offered by Travelchinaguide are flexible, also if you can not find an itinerary that exactly suits your requirement, you can ask the operators to tailor-made a tour for you.

The restaurants are not the tourism ones, but carefully chosen local famous ones.

Wish you a memorable trip in China!
