| China manufacures more motorcycles than any other country in the world but there more work horses that sports/road bikes. You'll just have to keep your eyes open. I have found that when I am looking for something I want to buy it eludes me for a long time and then suddenly I see one or someone helps me locate what I am looking for then, strangely I see the same thing everywhere I look and wonder why I had so much trouble spotting it before. Hang in there. Something will turn up but get your license first if you intend to ride here. we all need A Chinese License. Was that you asking about one recently. |

| If you are really looking for an over 250cc motorcycle, there are plenty on sales in Jieshi (smuggling port North of Shenzhen) and maybe also in Xintang. if you want a legal number for a big bike, Xinjiang and Beijing seem to be the main choices. Many cities - provided they don't ban all motorbikes - at least ban motorbikes from other cities. Most such bikes are illegal though. Expired or self-made number plates. Especially Hebei A and Guangdong-Shantou numbers. If you get a legal number, make sure that you really get what you pay for. In Guangzhou, some parts of Panyu still issue number plates for 125 cc bikes. Please drop by at http://groups.msn.com/ and the Chinese sites: www.gdmoto.com and www.motof.net Good luck, and see you onbike - not online - next time Michael |
