| i was in a town and i seen some guy got beat up because he was stealing and then other people joined in and beat him till the police came. this other time a old man got off his bike for a minute to buy smokes and a guy aproxematly 20-25 years old jumped on the bike and tried to get away and then people started running after him. then he fell off the bike and 3 guys beat him up then another guy across the street jioned. then the police came and just took the guy to jail but no one got in trouble. |

| It is good that the thief got beaten up. I was pickpocketed 2 times within 20 mins in SZ a few months ago and bystanders just looked at them performing their job without helping me in anyway. I caught him redhanded but there were accomplice. Beating them up by the public may sound cruel but it is a necessitated by an inefficient police force. |

| I agree with pinetree! I was pickpocketed once in Guangzhou,and really wanted to beat him in the public,and cut his hands!!!!! Too scaring!!! |

| yes i agree when something happens no one does anything about it i seen a old women get hit by a motor cycle and they just stand there and watch. in the states and canada we like to help people... i think they deserve to get beaten so they know next time not to steal if they didnt get beat up then nothin will happen to them no one will help things will just get worse everyone will start to steal |

| pine tree and california i hope they caught the person who stole from you now and got beaten.. when they end up in jail they will be tortured and beaten with sticks i was watching a show where prisioners get beaten to death and they sell their organs to rich forgniers that need transplants |

| sebastien they are very good at stealing they use razer blades and cut your pocket some people keep small razer blades underneath there nails. sometimes they get someone else to distract you and they will tkae your stuff when your not looking. this one time i seen kids stealing out the side of my house for wood and scrap metal and plastic. the kids parents told them to steal for wood to make fire |

| this one timee a girl i knew was going home from work and her work gave her a place to stay and this one night she got to the door and 3 kids grabed her then coverd her mouth then put a knife up to her neck and took everything she had with her and the night right after it happend again to another girl who worked at the same place...i had a friend who worked at a hotel then a 20-25 year old girl went to the counter and had a knife in her hand and tryed to open the table for money when she couldnt get it open the women stabed her 3 times |

| I must be lucky or too scary for thieves to rob. IMO, the pickpocket problem did not appear as bad in Beijing as the stories.... ...but maybe I am lucky........... |
