Are American Brand cigarettes availabe in China?

As Iam a smoker, I would like to know is American's brand cigarettes like Dunhill, Marlboro, Salem etc availabe in China?. Or should I buy it at the airport which is duty free for my own consumption. How many sticks of duty free cigarettes are allowed to be brought into china. Thanks a lot.

BSHORT4 Points: Join Date: Dec 28, 2005 Status: Offline	Yes you can buy Malboros just about anywhere in China---a lot cheaper than you can buy them in the STATES--$1.50 per pack. I brought a carton of my brand over and when I ran out i bought the Chinese Cigs---they are not to bad actually.

American cigarettes cost about USD3.50 in my country cuz of heavy tax to discourage smoking. Suprisingly American cigarettes are not easily available in Thailand and they are sold in the black market.

This is a big problem for Western smokers. I have tried everything and in China, only Marlboro can be found and no one will order your brand for you so when you run out of what you brought with you, you only have one choice: Marlboro and I have to assume they are not quite the real deal....they are quite acceptable though and much cheaper than in US. This is what I smoke here and find them to be just fine.

If you chose to smoke here, Marlborro is a good choice. Otherwise, you will spend a lot of time trying the hundreds of Chinese made smokes to find one that you like, but it can be worth it if you are staying a long time. I did this and still ended up choosing the Marlboro.

You just can't buy Western cigs in China. Get over it......
