I like to, economically hire driver and 10 seater mini-bus to travel. I find quotes on packages through internet agencies are over-charged. Can you recommend local car rental agent and contacts ? I am thinking to switch over to guest houses after seeing comments in this community. Can you tell me if the 3 star hotel and guest houses equipped with heater in their room ? Arthur

Car rental in China, as in the prior discussion, is normally with driver as foreign tourists are not permitted to drive here. Most of these cars are run by small scale operators so you typically need to sort things out after you arrive. Hotels etc can usually arrange cars or put you in contact, but as always with hotels you will not get the best prices. For lower prices you should ask around and be prepared to bargain.
