Having a driver for the whole day while travelling in Beijing can be more convenient than taking taxis, especially when there are long distances involved (Great Wall etc) or you are doing a lot of shopping at different places. I was introduced to a Beijing Driver, a team of reliable English- speaking drivers and cars at prices on a par with booking a taxi for a day (under RMB400/USD50 for most itineraries). Moreover, they provide you a temporary cell phone including hotline service which could significantly help your trip in Beijing.
