My husband and I have arrived in Qingdao about a month ago. We are golfers and would like to play from time to time. However, as we do not have any club memberships, we find the prices pretty steep. Are there any golf club members who might be able to sign us in?

Yes, golfing in China is an expensive pastime. They are there to tap foreign currency.
Qingdao has beautiful golf courses. I doubt that you can get members to sign you in unless you know them well enough. Maybe you can consider short-term lease or purchase a membership(which I understand is not cheap either) and sell it when you leave China later ?
I believe that there are also no "public" courses such that rates are cheaper. U may have to suspend your golfing activity for some years.
Anyway, good luck.
