Hi,
I'm from California. I'll be going to Shanghai, Hangzou, Wuzhen, Suzhou. I'm thinking of not getting any shots. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Should I get shots? What kind? I'm young (though over 30 :-) )and pretty healthy.

Thanks!

I didnt get any shots for my 15 months in China and won't when I return. However, you might consider getting them for hepatitis as that is easily caught in many places around the world.

Visitors are often warned to take precautions against mosquitoes if travelling to the south as you can catch diseases such as dengue fever. It is not very common but it is very dibiltating.

I recommend taking or buying when you arrive some anti-diarrhoea tablets: most of us suffer at some time, especially at the beginning, as hygene is definitely not as high in most western countries and it takes a while for the antibodies to build up in your stomach.
