hi,ABHI, welcome to Harbin, I am a local here, let me give you some clues:

1)both shanghai and beijing are very convenient if you come here by air. but Beijing is far closer than Shanghai, as it is around 500KM away while Shanghai is 2000KM away. if you come by train, Beijing has more options and it takes 10 hours while you only get one train from shanghai to harbin taking you more than 30 hours.

2)the temperature now is -5 to -15 degree centigrade，estimately, it will reach -20 10 days later, take some cold-proof wears to keep warm.

Hi,Abhi,

1. IS IT EASIER OR BETTER TO REACH HARBIN FROM SHANGHAI OR BEIJING?
I think Beijing is better,a few trains go to Harbin from Beijing.

2. BEST WAY TO REACH HARBIN FROM BEIJING/ SHANGHAI
By train!An overnight train needs 12 hours.

3.WEATHER INFORMATION DURING 25 NOV - 30 NOV
Cold,and now,it's already blew 0 degree.

4. PLACES TO STAY
I stayed in Yunma Hotel near the train station,and a tree-beds room cost 300RMB,very warm.

5.ANY OTHER USEFUL INFO
Pls put on more clothes.

GUEST55130	you go from shaghai is best, weather will be very cold I mean -o degress dress up warm I come from australia its a great place I meet my wife there very cheap try x long hotel very cheap $27.70 per night all the best cons even a toilet you can sit on and shit not just a hole be happy ozze
