It's a spot that never goes away -- a Mongolian Spot. It was mystery to me for a long time, and I recently learned from a Japanese lady what it is. The knowledge of this spot is passed from mother to mother -- East Asian babies are born with a blue spot on their body that looks like a bruise. It fades and disappears, but in my case it has stayed all these years! I'm one of the rare people to whom this has happened.
