Best Place to Live in XMN?

Where is the best place to live in XMN?

Why?

Consider: We're 2 adults and 2 boys (3 & 5)... and we speak English as well as Mandarin.

What's your thought?

Gulangyu is a nice place to live in, but if you're there for work it'd be sensible to be located somewhere near your workplace so that you don't waste lots of time commuting everyday.

In my opinion, you could find a place to stay near Bai Lu Zhou or if you have budget then maybe you could try on Marco Polo near Hu Bin Bei Lu. Those two places I suggested are places where there are beautiful parks nearby, you could take pictures.

Gu Lang Yu, is indeed the most visited place for tourists. I could however, suggest also Nan Putuo Temple (more info http://xiamencity.cn). A nice view of Xiamen University.. You could rest on your first day of arrival in Xiamen, then second day, take the Bus Tour in Shi Zheng Fu (I think), the bus will tour you around the Xiamen for only 20-50 RMB - A good really if you aren't sure where you want to go because they will show you some beautiful places in Xiamen, and you can drop off anytime you want. The bus is a round trip so where you embark on the bus is where you could disembark.

Another place you can visit is Hu Li Shan, the battle grounds during that time when Xiamen and Taiwan. Its a historical place.
