| hi i will be in Lijiang on January 29th, and i need to be in Shanghai by February 20th. Do you think this trip is possible: start in Lijiang, go to Dali, then north to Xichang, then Chengdu, then on to Xi'an through Guangyuan, then on to Luohang, Luohe, and then south to Wuhan, and from Wuhan to Nanjing, and then into Shanghai. I am planning to do this trip mostly by train. Is it possible to do it in 1 month? does it sound like a good tour of China? i've never been to China, so i really want to use my time to see the country first hand and not fly over it. thanks for any insight or ideas. | Hi, M! Why and how do you choose these cities in your first trip itinerary in China? 12 cities in one month, sounds so pressing~~ I think you'd better choose the train. And I am wondering why you choose many small and jumping-off? Daisy ^_^ |

| hi, glad to know you will come to China, but i guess such a long schedule can not be carried out within a month. according to your preference, i would like to advise you an itinerary with most China highlights. Strat from Lijiang-Dali-Kunming ( Transfer with a car or van) 5-6days Kunming - Chengdu ( By train, 18hours or so) stay in and around Chengdu for 3-4 days, Chengdu - Xi'an (By train, 16hours or so) stay in xi'an for 2-3 days, Xi'an -Luoyang (By train, 6 hours or so) stay in luoyang for 2-3 days Luoyang or Zhengzhou - Hangzhou (By train) stay in Hangzhou for 3-4 days Hangzhou - Shanghai (By car or train) stay in and around Shanghai for 5-6days,you can also go to Suzhou, Wuzhen, Mt. Putuo Oh,my god, i nearly forget your arrival time, it's on 29th,Jan. I have to remind you the time you choose will just come across the peak season of the rail traspotation. because the Chinese New Year will be coming in 8th, Feb and all the workers and students will be on a holiday and back at home during that period, in that case the train will be definitely crowded and the tickets will be in great demand within the whloe month. I am not sure whether you can buy the train tickets timely. :( |
