Hi all,

I'm a Chinese guy who grew up in Europe and I'm currently looking into going to China (Shanghai)to study Mandarin (as I don't speak this) for a period of 6 months (back to the roots so to say).

I'm wondering if anybody can recommend some good schools or courses that would start after the Chinese NY and last for 5-6 months.

Also any pointers into how to find a nice affordable studio/appartment or other accomodation in Shanghai would be greatly welcome.

And if anybody has any other suggestions, please post them, it'll be very helpfull

Have a nice Xmas.

Try to make some contacts/friends before you go. Maybe you can do that in here. Otherwise use a messenger program: I make friends in Skype. But if you can find a friend at home who can help you, use QQ.

Shanghai Conservatory of Music has an affordable program, and accommodation (single room with shared bathroom and toilet) is 60 RMB/day, which's very good considering the central location.
