hi,

anybody can give an idea on how to get to xiamen from hongkong aside from flying? is there an easy route by bus or train to get to xiamen from hongkong? will be traveling next year month of january and i need help.

appreciate very much any help.

Trains and ships are availble directly from Hongkong to Xiamen.
You could search "Jimei Hao" if you want to take the ship.

Some other ways also very convinient. As you could go to Shenzhen by anyway from Hongkong and from there go ahead to xiamen. However that would be a little bit difficult for a foreigner who first come to china.

Ferry should be the most convenient vehicle between Hong Kong And Xiamen. A daytime catamaran service taking just over three hours.
Hong Kong - Xiamen 1400 0800 Weekday 7245 from China Hong Kong City Pier

7245 means sunday,tuesday,thursday and friday:D
"1400 0800" means the ferry leaves Hong Kong at 14:00, and arrive in Xiamen about 8:00 next morning.
Hong Kong - Xiamen 1400 0800 Weekday Sun, Tue, Thu, Fri from China Hong Kong City Pier.
Xiamen - Hong Kong 1500 0900 EveryMon, Wed, Thu, Sat to China Hong Kong City Pier.

you mention that Hongkong-Xiamen has a catamaran that only takes over three hours . is that another ferry faster than the one you mentioned in your email?

do you know jemei hao?

are there several ferries that travel HONGKONG-XIAMEN-HONGKONG?

i tried WASA QUEEN two years, i wonder if it's the same ferry that travels HONGKONG-XIAMEN-HONGKONG?

Yes, Jiemei that you mentioned is the famous and usual ferry between Hong Kong and Xiamen. It starts out from Hong Kong every Friday, and return every Monday and Thursday.
