Only in Shanghai for two weeks

So I was wondering....what are the things I have to do see and do? Even if I don't get time to do anything else? I'm a film student and LOVE anything to do with film or cinema, so can anyone suugest anything that might appeal to me on this front? Also, I'm trying to learn some conversational Mandarin (and have been trying for some time!) but can still only manage "Hello" "Goodbye" and "Thankyou"! Will I get by OK? Do many people speak English in Shangai and will I be able to make myself understood?
