Short Term Cultural and Language Studies in Dali

Hi,

I am planning to be in Dali area for the month of May 2007, visiting friends there. I am interested in short term, introductory study of Mandarin or other cultural, historical or current issues topics (i.e. 1-4 weeks of study). Could anyone provide leads on this kind of study in the Dali (Lijiang) area?
