Personally, I would fly to Beijing !! The train ride from San Diego to Beijing is much to long, I feel !?

I am planning a trip to Tibet from SFO around beginning of May. My plan is to either take the train from Beijing or Xian. I am concerned that May1st is a big holiday in China, it might be a very busy time to travel during the first week of May.

Has anyone used services from Access Tibet Tour of Lhasa? They suggest flying into Lhasa & taking the train from Lhasa to Shanghai because it's more difficult to get the train going into Lhasa. Any advises? yahoo.com|rayatebay if you are interested to join me.
