| The 49th annual Grammy Awards were held in Los Angeles on February, 11. As a Chinese, it is a pity to see that the nominated Chinese folk singer Song Zuying hasn’t won the award. Song Zuying is a major figure in Chinese music since the early 1990s. She is a beloved folk singer and has done well in promoting the traditional music of China. In November 2003, she held a solo concert in the Golden Hall in Vienna, Austria successfully. And in October 2006, she stages her solo concert at U.S. Kennedy Performing Arts Center. This year, with her CD “The Diva Goes to the Movies: A Centennial Celebration of Chinese Film Song”, Song has been nominated for a Grammy in the category of “Best Classical Crossover Album”. Having not taken the cake, however, she contributes a lot to the promotion of Chinese art and culture. We Chinese should be proud of her. Do you like Song Zuying? Which songs of her do you prefer? |

GUEST35510 | Is she Miao as in Hmong? Or Miao as in non-Hmong and just a Chinese ethnic minority. Who knows for certain? I'm curious being Hmong (USA) myself. |
