![]() | Hi there, I'm planning to come to china for the first time (3 weeks in august). The plan is to fly into shanghai, travel around and fly out from beijing. I don't know alot about china (apart from the most famous things), and after looking at guide books beijing looks brilliant. I am worried though about missing places like guilin or them being difficult or time consuming to get to. Any ideas on where you would go if you had 3 weeks and were happy to backpack around the place? (and any place that you definitely would not miss out?) Thanks for any advice |

Good luck! |

![]() | Sorry Lionpower, but what is there in Shenzhen but shops? I understand that Chinese are proud of this city which has grown so fast and is an example of the new China, but as a tourist I prefer the older more historic cities. So I would send a tourist to the nearby Guangzhou instead whuich has interesting markets, Simian Island, Chens Family Courtyard/Museum and more. But if I am wrong, Lp, please tell us more about Shenzhen. |
