In Asia, we can't think homely food with out mother.
Especially for the festival food, its bears the aristocracy of the family, mainly directed or maintained by mother.
Yes, we may think motherless family, there also be a shadow of mother on that family.

Mother comes here as byproduct like, when we make soap, glycerin makes automatically.

Hi BW, the next important Chinese festival is Gragon Boat Festival, on Lunar May 5, it maybe the June then. People would eat Zongzi, glutinous Rice dumpling wrapped with a triangle roll of bamboo or reed leaves.

Dragon Boat Festival is on Jun.19 this year. It is one of most important traditional festivals in China, so every province in China will celebrate the day and eat Zongzi. But probably Hubei Province is the most noisy part, for the person that the festival memorizes-Qu Yuan, was just born in Zigui County, Yichang City of the province. And the province is where the great Yangtze River traverses through, so the dragon boat match is very impressive there. In fact, many other provinces will have the dragon boat match on the river, Guangdong, where owns Pearl River, is also a very good destination.
