History---

In 1980s, China 90-II Main Battle Tank was seen as a candidate for PLA’s third-generation MBT Plan designed by NORINCO. Later 98 MBT was chosen to serve the PLA for its good capability. But the 90-II MBT continued to improve. At last, it was sold to foreign countries as an export product. In 1990s, Pakistan attained the certificate to manufacture this type of MBT, which was known as “Ehalide” (Al-Khalid)!

GUEST12496	Yea MBT 2000 is an export variant of a type-80. China's main battle tank is the Type-96 supported by a few type-98 and 99s. MBT is only employed by the Pakistani army.
