HI, Does anyone know of a great place to stay whilst in Hong Kong? Something not too pricey with a bit of character?

I don't know about your definition of "bit of character", but a cheap, nice place to stay is the Salisbury Hotel on the Kowloon side. It is about 26 USD a night in their "hostel" room, which you have a bunk, a locked closet, and a desk. It has private rooms too, which start around 80 or so USD a night.

The best part of the Salisbury is that it is a two minute walk from the Star Ferry, is one block away from Nathan RD, and is right next to a MTR Terminal.
