Saving Private Ryan

U.S. famous director Sam Fuller, who directed many classic war films, once said:"a good war film can make audiences feel that the enemy is shooting at them!"
Several years passed, finally in 1998, Steven Spielberg interpreted what Sam said with his unique art language.

For the Normandy landings in 1944, i know a little. The only point I've given is the impression that shown in the history textbook. I still remember that there is a illustration in that text----a few U.S. soldiers are steping to the beach with big smile.

But history is not like that. Spielberg told us with his movie. His contribution is presenting the whole scenes of Omaha Beach. First time let us feel that we are so close to the war.
The sucess is gained by the blood of countless soldiers, and similarly, the road to berlin is also

paving with the soldiers' blood. So in the "Saving Private Ryan", blood on the battlefield has become the most eye-catching leading role.
The fact proved the sucess of Spielberg's manage, his understanding is vivid, for the Captain Miller is typically Spielberg's tact.

First at all, Captain Miller appeared in front of the audience instead of his face, but the trembling hand----DO NOT Belittle this hand, it has important connotation. What does that mean?

Obviously, people always live in the fear of war, a long time war could hurt everyone, not only in their body but also in their mind. One side, the war give Miller a symptom----a similar result was achieved "Parkinson" syndrome of strange illnesses. Another side, this also implies that Miller is a veteran soldier, has experienced a lot of battles, and caught kinds of illnesses. This hand is the way of Spielberg. He is good at using small details to express a lot of things.

In the next screen, with the trembling hand, Captain Miller started to drink water. In this scene, when Miller brought water bottles, he "just" covered his face. You didn't know what he looks like.

Then after drinking, he showed his face. In fact, at that time, most audience are interesting in Tom Hanks, but not Captain Miller. This is a typical Hollywood-style business practices, with a series of shots to get the audience's attention, in a few seconds of time, figures show the dynamic patterns.Furthermore, Tom Hanks is very famous. He has a great appeal at box-office. He will give people a kind of excitement and expectations, and thereby achieve a director to suggest the following story for the role.

In Miller's facial features, we can see that his face had been through the vicissitudes of life and the barbarity of the war. In such an atmosphere, we can not see a face of innocent child like "Forrest Gump", nor a romantic one in "Sleepless in Seattle", only a tired face left.
With this face the camera began drawing more and more faces in front of us. The camera captured their feeling to describe the imposing war. Then came the rumble of gunfire, the damage the water droplets raining down on the soldiers who landed on board. The battle could be triggered at any moment.

Of course, we gave to talk about the shooting pratice of death. In the war, death is inevitable, such as the Normandy landing, horrible war dead are common phenomena. To be meaningful, it is first necessary to achieve truth. In "Saving Private Ryan," the death scene very realistic. No soldiers kept on struggling after been shot, they just died, so fast. Increased gradually dead soldiers, one, two, three…… till countless, ultimately the scenes is very horrible on the screen.

In the film scene more than 20 minutes of the landing operation, almost every one of the fallen soldiers gave the audience left a deep memory.
The bullets penetrated into one's head through the helmets, made by the intestines of a young soldier, desperate to call his mother. Captain Miller in the crossfire boots dragged a wounded comrade-in-arms in the flat road ahead, after the roarof bombs, he found his man only half a tail of the body left. In this unforgettable painted scene, who can forget the horror brought by the bloody war?

"Saving Private Ryan," makes you always immerse in its dark touched lane. Every soldier's death can cause a wide range of psychological and physiological great sympathy.

This is not only shown the brutality of war, cruel, fascist cruelty, but also awake people to remember those precious lives of the soldiers died in the war.

It is impossible for you to get out of the infection and moved polt.

When people died in the roar of bombs, gunfires, you will be shocked by the tremendous grief, which made you have to taste the condemnation of that war, yearn for peace, and ultimatly rechew the concern of humanity and love.
