Han Peng scored twice in the first half with the help of the fantastic assists produced by Manchester United forward Dong Fangzhuo. Botir Karaev, one of the mere veterans in the Uzbekistan team, gave away an own ball when Chinese winger Mao Jianqing delivered well to the more confident Han Peng in the early stage of the second half. Uzbekistan sparked a revival in the second half with more offensives and got rewarded by a goal scored by Vlarimir Shishelov.
