hi,
was thinking of going to Beijing in mid-Dec. my first visit there. wld it be adivsable to do so in mid-Dec? wld it be too cold / unbearable in Dec. How about the places of interest...in dec?

It will be cold (it'll be minus 7 tonight) and possibly snow on the ground. The colder it is, the less people there are at the big sites and the more impressive they are, especially the Forbidden City and the Wall.
I don't think it's ever severe enough to not go anywhere as long as you are prepared for very cold weather. Warm places with vast quantities of tea are never far away!
