GUEST41275 Hi All,

Please be very careful when you join a china tour.
My wife and I joined CTC (Singapore Tour Co) for a 8Days tour to Juizhaigou,Huanglong/ Mt.Emei and part of the tour is a visit to a Jade Outlet in Chengdu.
We were conned into buying jade items not worth its value.
A piece of jade bangle for RMB 52500 about SIN dollars 10500. and another jade pendent for RMB 45800 about SIN 9160 dollars.
Firstly, the china tour guide will sweet talk you on the way to the shop.
Once in the shop, a sales girl will begin to lead you into the shop and star briefing you about jade.
Then all of a sudden a man ( claimed to be the boss) will walk in and start telling story about his life and parents. At the end of his sweet/con talk he will show you some jade pieces ( claimed for oversea exhibition) costing RMB 525000. or more. Then he will tell you he will remove the last "0" which is 90% discount.
Most of my tour group guys fell into his trick and we bought.
Later did we relised the items is not worth its value maybe .
Please be very careful.

It is better to hire a local person who should plan well before setting out. The competition between travel agency is so severe and some of the travel agencys even push out negative-charge tours. So they can only earn from what you expense at the shops

If the driver doesn't use the meter, then don't get in. And keep the receipt very well and the driver license too. If you have any problem, you can use the receipt and driver license as proof.
