New regulations of Beijing municipal government have been made to open all school playgrounds to citizens. It is really a piece of Good news for dwellers in Beijing. The open hours will be decided by school leaders, according to schools’ own schedule. Probably, citizens can use these sports facilities on weekend, in national holidays and during the summer and winter vacation.
Besides, Beijing municipal government will buy the casualty insurance for citizens. Also, government will allocate 5 million RMB lottery funds to compensate all those schools.

Some other countries have had the same idea, some have been successful, others not so successful. In principle it is a good idea that publicly funded facilities should be available to all citizens.
