Here is a blank filling question in the geography lesson of an American school: In your opinion, America is a powerful country in ____ . And the choices are science, military strength, tourism, agriculture, aviation, etc. The correct answer is agriculture.
You may be surprised at this answer, because population of farmers in America takes up only a small proportion, and the agricultural production takes up a little in American GDP. However, this question just aims at telling American young generation that the crucial status of agriculture in a country's economy. We can see education about national conditions in America pay much attention to the agriculture.
As for China, with more than one billion farmers out the of total population of 1.3 billion. How much attention has we focused on the education about national agriculture? Usually, common Chinese people do not like to talk about the issue of agriculture. Students avoid to choose agriculture as their major in college, and cadres avoid working in the agricultural department. 'Agriculture' in Chinese people's minde equals to the poverty, why?

Oh, the common Chinese people do not like to talk about the science as well. Just forget about the common people and think about WHOLE THE PEOPLE and the clever people :)

This is a bad multiple choice question. Maybe it is true ... but it dose not represent the rea;ity of the USA. For exams, ignore the clearly wrong answers, and choose one of the others. For knowledge and understanding... keep chatting with net friends and keep reding the books !
