U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said on Thursday that US has lost Iraq war. On Wednesday, he told this message to Bush during a meeting at White House. He made a speech on Thursday and insisted that US should use diplomatic, political and economic policies to win the Iraq war. However, Bush defended his war policy and said that it was “the most solemn duty of our country is to protect our country from harm." A survey made by CNN revealed that 69% Americans think that the situation goes badly in Iraq and 29% Americans still think that Additional troops should be sent to Iraq to win the war. A news USA Today/Gallup poll, released on Thursday said that 57% people in US think that it was wrong to launch a war against Iraq. 41% people think it was not. At present, the death toll of US soldiers in Iraq reaches 3,200.
A Germany scholar sums up three main reasons why US was lost in Iraq war.
1. Rely to much on the creation of new technologies and strategies.
US could easily destroy a regime of the ex-president of Iraq. However, it can not conquer a nation or a country very easily. US and British soldiers died in the terrorist attacks, religious conflicts and guerrilla tactics used by the rebellions. The core of the military strategies is not to cease the conflicts but to win the war not the peace. The preliminary victory of Iraq made US believe that his new strategies has taken effect and played an important role in the victory. The former ministry of national defense once put forward a new military strategy "10-30-30". That is to say, use 10 days to deploy its army, 30 days to finish the war and 30 days to regroup the army. He said that US army could be prepared for 5 wars in a year. However, what happened in Iraq proved that he was wrong and he resigned finally. Faced with the nuclear problem on Korea peninsular, US has to "compromise".
2. Eager to finish the Iraq war in a decisive war.
US want to finish the war quickly in a decisive war but the consequence was not as they planned. US said that they would build a democratic country for the Iraqis. However, he fails. More and more civilians died in the blasts or conflicts between the US troops and the rebellions. Some say the situation becomes even worse than the reign of the former president of Iraq. Two blasts happened on April 18th and 19th and the death toll has reached about 200. The security in Bagdad has not improved better.
3. The effect of pragmatism.
More haste, less speed. US want to finish the war early but the result was not as they expected. They care less about what their people thought. More and more Americans expect Bush to withdraw the army from Iraq soon. However, he still stick to his own policy and thinks that what he has done is to protect US from harm. Now that you have won victory at war, you are still a loser if you lose the trust of the people.

US should withdraw from Iraq as soon as possible. That is the best choice for them.

So many disasters. Every day, we turn on the TV. News came that a war...., a clash of two trains happened in .., xx dead, xx wounded. If we can't have the natural disaster in control, Why still we the human being are busying with lanching a war to "make" misery?
