Most of us consider the Lonely Planet China travel guide a book of near biblical proportions for traveling around China. My current edition is pretty old.

I've already ordered mine...but thought anyone planning a trip for this summer would be well served by getting the latest edition.

Do you think the edition that I bought a couple of months ago might be out of date than? Is everything changing so fast in China?

Yes Ewelina,
You will have bought the old version but it will still be useful for some details and some places but prices will be old. Not all areas will be updated as you can imagine it is a huge task to keep China up to date with the speed that things are changing and the logistics of collating all the information that needs to be collected.

They didn't update the Shanghai section that much, some of the information on the maps is still wrong. That's disgusting considering the same information has been wrong since the 2002 edition.
