![]() | David Beckham revealed to a British television station his feelings on how he felt he needed to prove himself to Real Madrid coach Fabio Capello after deciding to sign with the Los Angeles Galaxy of the MLS. The former England captain knew his commitment to the Spanish club would be questioned once he signed an enormous deal worth an estimated $248 million deal with the Galaxy. "People wondered how you could be committed to a team when you had signed for another team," Beckham told Sky Sports. "I had to prove I am committed. It doesn't mean I don't give 110 percent or don't fly into tackles and try to win things with this team." Beckham will join the Galaxy when his contract with Madrid ends at the end of June. Beckham did endure an uncertain period at Madrid after revealing he was to quit the club. Capello immediately left him out of the squad and claimed he would not pick him again. However, Capello relented and Beckham was reinstated and has played a key role in their title challenge. |
