The State Forestry Administration has elected Red-crowned Crane(丹顶鹤) as China's National Bird. Most of the netizens agree with this bird but some are disagreed. Some guy said that the Red-crowned Crane is also called Japanese crane. So it's not suitable to use to elect a National Bird with a foreign name. Plus, the crane is also in severe danger and the number of this crane is small. It's not a lucky sign to name this crane our National Bird. They believe that 鸳鸯, mandarin duck, is better.
