Different Chinese uniforms...what do they represent | |

| What do the different colors of uniforms in China mean? For instance, a blue, high-crowned visor hat, a green-tan shirt, red tie, and blue pants...what does that say about the person wearing the uniform? I have more vivid memories of the different uniforms from 1978 than my trip last year. Are the green uniforms still worn? ...and if so, what does that say about the person wearing the uniform? I am certain that the colors must indicate law enforcement, military, government employee and so on...it would be good for a traveler to know these things. |

| The hat is blue with red trim, a dark shiny bill, a light blue band and a bright red & gold Chinese emblem. The shirt is tan (with hints of green) with blue epaulets trimmed with red and an emblem in the center. Bright red tie. Blue pants. The uniform is much more official looking than the police pictures, May. It almost looks like a general's uniform by comparison...although it does not have all of the accoutrement of a government official that high up. |

| I'll ask my friend who wears the uniform. I did not want to ask...I thought I could do some underground research ;) |
