![]() | In 2006, only from October to December, 4,922 Chinese people was attacked by food poisoning, among whom 36 dead! More and more food are not as healthy and natural as before. Take vegetables as example, 90% are grown with various fertilizers and insecticides. I remember when I was a kid, my mother never pared the skin of cucumbers. She just washed them slightly. But now everytime she will pare the skin because there is so much pesticide left on it! What a polluted world! It's really high time we do something for our earth, and at the same time, for ourselves! |

![]() | Yes, it is. And now the Chinese government did some new law about the control of the food, medicines, etc. Soon we hope to see the results. |

![]() | In my opinion, food poisoning is not so much the fault of pesticides etc. as problems with food preparation. I love Chinese food, and have been to hundreds of Chinese eateries, but i don't think 5% of them would pass a Canadian or American food health inspection. The vast majority of Chinese restaurants would be shut down in the interests of public safety. Personally, I have had 4 major bouts of food sickness in the past two years, and so now I am as careful as I can be regarding where and what to eat. I will not buy from curbside vendors, for example. |

![]() | You are right. Many of them have no idea what is "hygiene"! Moreover - they put dogs on the tables (even soe of the customers) or just they have dogs and cats (as pets) in their restaurant. Can you imagine? The cooks are touching the dogs / cats and then they are cooking your food!!! Terrible! That is why I prefer to eat only hot dishes in the restaurants (at least we can be somehow sure that the high temperature is killing most of the bad viruses, bacterias, etc.). |

![]() | Actually, we live in a word full of bacilli and pollution. Food safety now becomes a worldwide public health issue and I'm even callous to this topic. China has already stressed the controling and managing strength on food safety this year. Hope it will be better in the future. |
