Will you come to visit Xian during the May Holiday? Don't miss the Coming-of-age Ceremony which will be held on the Northern Square of Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Xian. At 9 o'clock, 50 girls and boys wearing traditional Han costumes will participating this grand ceremony.

Boys coming-of-age day ceremony is called 冠礼 and girls is 笄礼. In the past, when a boy is 20 years old and girl is 16, 冠礼 and 笄礼 would be held to celebrate their great day. During the ceremony, the boys and girls will change their costumes to adults', do their hair to adults', show their appreciation to their ancestors, parents, teachers, etc. They should also listen to their parents' edification. They should learn to know that becoming an adult means that they should be responsible to themselves, the family, the society and the world.
