CAOJUAN157 Points: Join Date: Mar 13, 2007 Status: offline	Known as the Queen of Pingpong, the former World Champion of table-tennis and now an officer of China’s State Physical Culture Administration, Deng Yaping has a legendary experience. 5 years old, she started learning to play Pingpong; 9 years old, joined a professional team in Henan Province; 15 years old, joined Chinese national team of Pingpong; 16 years old, she won her first World Champion and since then she had won totally 14 titles of World Champion and 4 Olympic Golden Medals. Before she retired at the age of 24, she created a period of ‘Deng Yaping Times’. After retirement from the Pingpong career, she entered Tsinghua University, majoring in English. Then she pursued her degree of MA and PH.D successively in Nottingham University and Cambridge University. Meanwhile she was also appointed as an athlete commissioner in the IOC (International Olympic Committee). In 2003, she joined Beijing Olympic Committee and the next year she became an assistant in P.E. Equipment Center of China’s State Physical Culture Administration.

Being a super woman means she endures more sufferings than other people. Actually, she had overcome greater difficulties in her Pingpong career. She is only 150 cm in height and this prevented her from joining the provincial Pingpong team. In her early years, nobody believed that she would be a genius of table tennis. In fact, her talented Pingpong skills were due to her astonishing endeavor and perseverance. Her deeds exemplifies Chinese people's
Olympic spirit.
