We'll be travelling around beijing, xian, maybe inner mongolia region or any other northern or northwest regions. i think it's better in the northern regions in summer. so far, we've no exact tour plan. this destinations are just ideas. hi liz,

I thought its a good idea to travel around the yellow river:
we will land in Beijing, then Datong, maybe walk/climb Wutai Shan, maybe Hohhot, Taiyuan to Xi'an, Luoyang, Kaifeng, Qufu and from Ji'nan back to Beijing. Dunhuang would also be great.

The beautiful southern regions like Yunnan, Guangxi, Guizhou, Hunan and Sichuan perhaps next year/next trip to china.

But this is just a rough outline of our plan. I'm still searching routes and nice places to stay. So i'm very glad about some tips.

by the way: to learn mandarin is very hard - but funny (today i'm learning "numbers, days of the week and months" in chinese :)
