On May 10th, British Prime Tony Blair announced that he will step down in June 27. His likely successor, Chancellor of the Exchequer Gordon Brown, was said to have paid a "fulsome" tribute to him at the morning meeting in No. 10, Downing Street. Before his departure, Blair will focus on domestic and international affairs, including health and education reforms, as well as the forthcoming G8 and EU summits, until his successor, almost certain to be Gordon Brown, is chosen by Labour in about seven weeks.
The Guardian comments that he made three major mistakes during his ten-year reign. First, he should not have practiced Interventionism freely. The Iraqi war is the example. Second, he should not have "followed" behind US. On the issue of Iraq, Britain alomst stand on the side of US and did not function very well as he expected. Third, Britain did not join Euro-zone alough it is one of the members of EU.
How do you think of him, my friends?

Glad to see the back of him and sad that Brown will take over automatically without being chosen. Between them they have turned our country into the laughing stock of the world. If I give you some examples then maybe you can decide what you think of him.
1. Immigrants coming to our country and get free house and money from the government, while old people die because they cant afford to have any heating in their homes.
2. Unemployed people get more money from the government to not work than some people do who are working. So why work?
3. Children can walk the streets and attack people but the government cant stop them because they are too young to go to jail.
4. 'Political correctness' This means that I am not allowed to put up my countries flag outside my own house incase someone from another country is offended .
There are just too many to list but this gives you a few examples of how sad my country has become under Blairs government.

I am not a fan, but I have consistently voted for him in the past. I am grateful that he has stopped lesser persons from taking the role of prime minister for the past 10 years, and I consider that his 'three major mistakes' would have been made equally by any others in his position. I think he has tried hard to explain his decisions, and has pushed hard for more progressive international economic policies amongst the european and G8 nations.
I for one worry that the replacement, Brown, and his principal challenger, Cameron, have worse character. DAVEC's 4 points of concern may accelerate for the worse in Blair's absence.

Anything is better than having a Conservative government. Thatcher did far more damage to the rights of the ordinary working people.

Were you lucky enough to live here under the iron lady Paul? At least we didnt need America to hold our hand in those days. Some people saw her as harsh but she took no stick from anyone. I dont think we have really had a decent prime minister recently, like all they have good and bad points.
