Hello, everyone! Found this community useful. This is the first time to post here, and will be the first time to Xian this Dec. Could somebody tell me what the weather is like there? And what kind of the gear should I take? And is there any famous and interesting places for visit except the famous Terra Cotta Warriors? Sorry I just know Xian for its wonderful warriors: ) Any info would be very appreciated, thanks a lot.

Hi! Yesterday it we got the first snow of 2004! Though it was a littlt bit later than ever, it still gave us a white and clean world. When I got up, and looked out of the window, a totally different and beautiful world appeared in my eyes. It made me feel that Christmas is nearer and nearer. From yesterday, it can be said that Xian has already being in Winter. And it will get colder and colder. Dec and Jan are the most coldest time of Xian. So you'd better take more warm cloth, such as the sweater and thick feather-padded coat. But generally speaking, it is much warmer than ever comparatively. Sunshine still thinks fondly of us:D

Welcome to Xi'an!! Xi'an is very famous for its history and culture. Besides the famous Terra cotta Warriors, there are many place worth visiting. The City Wall, the Historical Museum, the Big wild Goose Pagoda, the Banpo village, the Huaqing hot spring… If you are a person interested in history and culture, Xi'an is just the right choice. :) PS. It will be cold in Dec, around -4C to 6C (25F-40F). Take warm cloths with you!

Thanks for your advice and suggestions, Daisy and Carie! Is it good for travelling Xian this time? How many days should I spend on visiting the places you suggested? And have other means or places to know about or get more familiar with the local folkways and traditional custom? And will there be some festivals or activities at that time? Thanks for all your info; )
