When a Chinese person says they are 50 or 30 or whatever age, are they actually saying they are 49, 29 or x-1?

I have read several times that when a baby is born, the baby is considered to be 1 year old. Is that way of counting age still used in China?

Yes, it's still widely used in countryside. But in cities, less people are using it.

I hate this!!!

I was born in the late winter,and before the spring festival,only one month.Then in chinese calendar,I was two year old when I came out only one month.

Too bad~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
