A good city to retire in will be Xiamen - good weather, no pollution, modern facilities, by the sea.

A group of English-speaking Chinese are planning to set up a retirement/holiday home there. Join us if you can.

With regards to visa, Xiamen is near enough to HK to make visa runs every six months to a year.

I thinking of doing the same, I retire in just over 8 years but the health care issue is very much in my thoughts, I like the idea of being in China for 6 months and in 6 months in the UK
probably back home in Somerset where life is a lot quieter than London.
I would have course have to talk it over with Jing although she might prefer to live in the UK.

I am Shunde local people.
I think for living Shundee is better than Guangzhou, Shanghai etc.
also Shunde also is one of the richest place in the world.
it is also Bruce Lee's hometown.
